How is the daily word chosen?

Each grid size has its own curated pool of answer words, and the puzzle advances through that pool based on the date, so everyone playing the same grid size on the same day gets the same word.

Why was my guess rejected even though it is a real word?

Every grid size checks guesses against a large validated dictionary, but no offline dictionary is perfectly complete. Let us know via the contact page if you find one that should be added.

Can the secret word ever be a word my guess got rejected as invalid?

No. The secret word always comes from the curated answer pool, a subset of the full accepted dictionary.

Do the 3-letter and 8-letter grids get the same number of tries?

Almost — 3 through 6 letters get 6 tries, while 7 and 8 letters get 7 tries.

Is there an account or sign-in?

No. Stats and streaks are stored locally in your browser rather than tied to a login.

Does Practice Mode affect my daily streak?

No, Practice Mode is tracked separately from the daily puzzle.
